Participate in important conservation work in beautiful New Zealand! Make new friends from around the world while learning about an amazing country and helping out practically with environmental conservation.
Program Highlights:
Itinerary:
Arrival Day, Friday: Arrive at the airport that corresponds with your volunteer program. Volunteers will make their own way to a designated meeting point. Volunteers will recieve a full introduction to their program placement and get to know one another.
Days 1-2, Saturday-Sunday: Volunteers will have the weekend to explore, hang out and get to know their new surroundings.
Days 3-6, Monday-Thursday: Volunteers will usually work from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, although this varies according to local conditions. Specific tasks will vary. Some weeks may include just one large project, while other weeks may be filled with various, short-term tasks.
Day 7, Friday: Departing volunteers will work until 4:00 PM before departing.
Remaining Weeks: Remaining weeks will follow the schedule of working Monday-Friday and having weekends free.
Location of the Project: New Zealand
Project length: Min 1 week – Max 8 weeks
Arrival Airport: Auckland International Airport (AKL), Wellington International Airport (WLG) or Christchurch International Airport (CHC)
Age: 18 – 70
Number of Volunteers: Up to 10 volunteers.
Important Note: Volunteers will choose their placement with our Operations Team, following registration for the program.

New Zealand offers a peaceful atmosphere, and a wide array of wildlife unique to the region. The project takes place in Punakaiki, which lies on the West Coast of South Island.
The projects offer volunteers the opportunity to contribute in a practical way to the conservation of the environment. Specific tasks vary by season and project location.

In order to facilitate the best and most varied experience, we encourage volunteers to commit to at least three weeks of volunteering.
Working hours and days: Volunteers generally spend one or two weeks at the project site. Project hours are generally from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Be prepared for the weather – different parts of the country can be very hot or cold, so you’ll need appropriate clothing (and sleeping bag) for the climate in the area you’ve chosen to visit.
Internet: Internet access is normally available at the accommodations.
Accommodations: Accommodations vary by project and location. Accommodations may include shared volunteer houses, caravans, hostels, bunkhouses and tents. Bedrooms and bathrooms are shared.
Food: Ingredients will be provided and volunteers are all expected to help preparing and cooking meals. Ingredients will be provided for three meals each day.
