This exciting, 15-day voluntour consists of teaching children in Cuzco, combined with touring around the southern section of Peru! Exploring Maras and Moray on a four-by-four motorbike tour, river rafting and ziplining, trekking through the Andes Mountains and visiting the magnificent ruins of Machu Picchu are just some of this program’s highlights.
Program Highlights:
Itinerary:
Day 1, Sunday: Arrive at Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport (CUZ). Volunteers will be picked up by the local team and staying overnight in ancient Cuzco.
Days 2- 5, Monday-Thursday: Rewarding volunteer work with local school children.
Day 6, Friday: Volunteer with children in the morning and take a city tour of ancient Cuzco in the afternoon.
Day 7, Saturday: Participants will go on a four-by-four motorbike tour of Maras and Moray National Park.
Day 8, Sunday: Participants will be rafting in the Vilcanota River and ziplining through the area.
Days 9-10, Monday-Tuesday: Volunteer days at the school.
Days 11-14, Wednesday- Saturday: Volunteers will trek for four days through the Andes Mountains to reach Machu Picchu. Return to Cuzco on the evening of Day 14.
Day 15, Sunday: Volunteers will be dropped off at Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport (CUZ) for departure.

This project takes place in various locations throughout the enchanting country of Peru. Peru is located on the northeastern part of South America and shares borders with five other countries including – and the Pacific Ocean.
Peru is made up of three main geographic regions: the highlands of the Andes Mountains, the coast and the Amazon Jungle region. A few destinations along this volunteering and touring project include the ancient city of Cuzco, the national park of Maras and Moray, trekking through the Andes Mountains and touring of the ruins of pre-Colombian Machu Picchu.
In addition to exploring the best that Peru as to offer, participants in this program will be volunteering with children at a local teaching assistance organization in Cuzco. Specific tasks may vary depending on each volunteer’s skills sets and experience. You will be asissting in varying workshops, depending on what the children choose to do. Assisting these children will also help them to learn about different cultural and therefore give them invaluable cultural experience.

Internet: Internet is available at the accommodations in Cuzco.
Accommodations: Volunteers will be placed in mixed-gender dorm rooms in Cuzco with up to 8 volunteers per room. During the trek volunteers will be placed in tents that are same-gender and are two per tent.
Food: Some lunches and dinners are provided
