Explore the Middle East with GoEco’s newest road trip experience! From the bustling seaside city of Tel Aviv to the sand dunes and archaeological sites of Jordan, this trip exposes participants to various landscapes, languages and cultures and includes four days of giving back at a placement of choice.

Itinerary*
Day 1, Sunday: Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport (TLV). Participants will make their own way to the orientation at 12:00 pm and enjoy a walking tour of the city.
Days 2- 5, Monday-Thursday: Participants will volunteer at their selected program in Tel Aviv.
Day 6, Friday: Participants will be picked up at 6:00 AM, with a tour bus to Jordan. Travelers will get to experience the Greco-Roman city of Jerash, have lunch at a local restaurant and continue on to visit the Jordanian capital city of Amman. Travelers will then be driven to a Bedouin camp near Petra, where they will enjoy an authentic Arab dinner.
Day 7, Saturday: After an authentic Bedouin breakfast, participants will spend an entire day exploring Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World! The morning tour (approximately four hours) will be guided and followed by lunch. The afternoon tour (approximately three hours) is self-guided, allowing participants to explore the area on their own. Dinner will be served in the Bedouin camp.
Day 8, Sunday: After an early morning breakfast, travelers will head to Wadi Rum for a desert jeep tour of the red sand dunes of this UNESCO World Heritage, protected area. Participants will then head back to Tel Aviv, arriving at approximately 10:00 PM. Please note that dinner is not included on this day.
Please note that times are approximate, and therefore cannot be guaranteed. We recommend booking an extra night in Tel Aviv on Sunday and departing Israel on Monday, at the earliest.

This exhilarating road trip takes you to two of the Middle East’s most popular tourist destinations – Israel and Jordan! Participants will volunteer in and explore the palm tree-lined, beach city of Tel Aviv, Israel. In Jordan, travelers will visit the capital city of Amman, Petra- one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, and will explore the red, desert sand dunes of Wadi Rum. Once back in Israel, travelers can extend their stay to visit the ancient cities of Jerusalem and Caesarea or visit the Dead Sea with plenty of tour options (available for an additional fee).
Participants on this road trip will volunteer Monday-Thursday at a volunteer placement of their choosing. Volunteer work can include caring for animals, helping the disabled or packing food baskets.
Internet: In Tel Aviv, free WiFi is available at the hostel. Internet is not available in the Bedouin campsites. Volunteers will receive a SIM card at orientation with 40 GB of data and unlimited calls to US, Canadian and Israeli numbers.
Laundry: In Tel Aviv, laundry facilities are available for a small fee
Accommodations: In Tel Aviv, travelers will stay at a hostel in a mixed-gender dorm room with up to 9 other people and a shared bathroom. The room is basic but comfortable and has bed linens, towels, air conditioning, a shared bathroom and a closet. In Jordan, participants will be staying in basic, shared, mixed-gender Bedouin tents.
Food: In Tel Aviv, a traditional Israeli breakfast is provided in the hostel each day and consists of breads, olives, vegetables, labaneh (a type of yogurt), coffee and tea. In Jordan, all meals are provided and include meals in restaurants as well as authentic Bedouin meals.
